Best Trim Paint Finishes For Rental Properties

Tips on paint finishes

What kind of paint finishes did you do?

I’ve been seeing a lot of people giving a tip that you should paint the trim, the ceiling, the walls, all with the same exact paint. Personally, I wouldn't do that. The reason why is, trim should be semi-gloss. And the reason for that, and I always encourage the property owners that I represent to paint semi-gloss because once it's painted, it's going to be a little more expensive to go ahead and paint it. You'll have to cut it in at the top and the bottom. It takes a lot more labor than just rolling out a wall. But that said, when the tenant moves out, if you don't have semi-gloss or gloss on there, it's just going to be an absolute mess and there's no cleaning it. If you should send a housekeeper in to clean your rental unit, it's just not going to be completely clean. Good luck!!!
